Kinesiology for Adults - 

Food Sensitivities

Kinesiology is considered to be a complete form of complimentary wellness care.  It uses gentle muscle testing to look for, understand and aid in supporting any imbalance within the body.

​Your session at the Dragonfly Healing Room looks at all the elements that may be affecting your health.  Kinesiology is a holistic therapy which uses muscle response to a muscle test.  I do this by placing your arms, legs or head into specific positions then apply a light pressure against the muscle that is being tested.  The muscle response measures the motor response of the central nervous system to a sensory challenge.

Food Sensitivities

Food...we have an interesting relationship with it.  It can be used to fuel our bodies and provide nutritional content to help our well being and it has an impact on our mood and behaviour. 

 

How then do we know if we have a sensitivity to certain foods?  We aim for our 5 fruits and vegetables a day and only have the occasional treat, so how would my body tell me that I have a sensitivity?

Your body is awesome - it will provide hints, clues or even problems so that you are able to 'notice' when you don't feel 'right'. 

 

Some of these signs include: 

​

  • bloating

  • constipation

  • diarrhea

  • tummy pains

  • skin issues

  • behaviour changes

What do sessions involve? 

​

As I assess the muscles, I will create an individual wellness plan which may have the following suggestions: 

​

  • Food supplements

  • Dietary changes including advice on food and chemical sensitivities 

  • Gentle relaxation techniques
