Kinesiology for Adults -

Hormonal Challenges

Kinesiology is considered to be a complete form of complimentary wellness care.  It uses gentle muscle testing to look for, understand and aid in supporting any imbalance within the body.

Your session at the Dragonfly Healing Room looks at all the elements that may be affecting your health.  Kinesiology is a holistic therapy which uses muscle response to a muscle test.  I do this by placing your arms, legs or head into specific positions then apply a light pressure against the muscle that is being tested.  The muscle response measures the motor response of the central nervous system to a sensory challenge.

Hormonal Challenges

The term 'hormonal imbalance' seems to be used many times to try to explain a multitude of symptoms and it can feel very confusing as to which way to turn.  Hormones dictate our bodily functions including; appetite, sleep patterns, how we respond to stress, whether we feel happy or upset, and how 'well' we feel.

There are symptoms which can provide signs towards a hormone imbalance or endocrine disorder, these include:

- trouble falling asleep or sleeping through the night

- you feel tired even after sleep

- you need a stimulant to get going i.e. caffeine or sugar

- you notice mood swings and energy crashes

- you notice changes to your menstruation cycle

The endocrine system is a network of glands that produce and release hormones that help to control many important body functions.  Each gland releases specific hormones into your bloodstream.

If just one of your glands is off balance it will have a knock on effect to the others and the upset to this delicate balance can lead to an endocrine disorder / hormonal challenge.

Included within the range of hormonal challenges are the categories of:

  • periods/menstruation

  • fertility

  • pregnancy

  • peri-menopause

  • menopause

What do sessions involve?

As I assess the muscles, I will create an individual wellness plan which may have the following suggestions:

  • Food supplements

  • Dietary changes including advice on food and chemical sensitivities

  • Gentle relaxation techniques

When I attended my first Kinesiology session I was suffering from a number of issue relating to the menopause as well as IBS problems associated with having my gall bladder removed. I had severe IBS which was debilitating and was also suffering with extreme fatigue, memory loss, hot flushes and low mood due to all my symptoms which had a notable affect on my life in general.

I noticed the positive changes within a few sessions which gave me hope and I could feel myself coming back to life and feeling positive again. I am a totally different person now thanks to Sue and will never be able to thank her enough for giving me back my health and happiness!!!

Just wanted to update you as promised. I am feeling so much better! The headache has gone and I have much more energy. The best part is that I got my period yesterday and there is hardly any pain!
